Original figures are 12" BBI Cougar F-18 Pilot figures. I usually have to build out the head with modelling compound....

So you just re-modeled the same heads for these 3 likenesses? I've done some of this type of stuff , but never to this degree. More just remodeling to improve a likeness. (Did that with the Disney Indy Jones 10" vinyl)
But I didn't realize you could take it so far,
thinking the medim would be too thin to truly
sculpt. Amazing work! The top pic is stunning!

Darth, Most of the clients are fat with big jowls so it's always easier to build out.

But sometimes I have to get out the Dremel and shave away, and sometimes I went right thru the plastic. then I had to build out with Testors modelling compound. It's grey and hardens quickly, but I apply it so thick it takes a few days to harden. the cool thing if it's applied thickly, the skin of the compound hardens first allowing you to mold the compound under the hardened skin.

Then I primer sometimes unless the client looks a lot like the original head. I got lucky a few times actually and only had to mold the chin and hair! But primering really shows the rough spots.

as a matter of fact I have another doll to do next week. That's how I stumbled on the killer sales at voyager toys. (TS2 set for $30!, Darkness box set for $12!) I can't find the Cougar Pilot figure anymore, so I buy Pres. Bush in flight suit. Same Navy flight suit so BFD.

Ironically, BBI used my dwgs for the Navy to design the equipment, and I know the guy sent to the White House to dress Pres. Bush for the "Mission Accomplished" landing on the USS LIncoln. Small world!

I'll post pics of the new doll when done.

Yup.. Haveta agree.. Remove the wings, make the back leg(s) a little smaller, and it'd be perfect chinese dragon.. But right now it looks like a mixture of Chinese, Asian, and Mideval styles all rolled into one.. Bad ass to say the least, but a little off on what you were tryin to do.

One great thing about mythical creatures.... they can have two legs, four, wings, no wings, whatever.....
